Smithfield Estates is a neighborhood in Birmingham's Pratt community. While most of the Pratt community was annexed into Birmingham in 1910, Smithfield Estates was not annexed until 1975. It is adjacent to the neighborhoods of Hooper City, Thomas, and North Pratt.
